Memorial Bench for Katrina

A very special memorial bench for Katrina Flynn. (https://www.currentobituary.com/member/obit/260963). In addition to being a beloved wife and mother of two, Katrina was a geneticist who loved flowers and played the violin. I was commissioned by her husband to build something unique for her, and I did my best by including forged flowers and double helix "ribbons" to a Victorian couch-style bench. The bench seat is made from carved ipe blocks to look like a tufted cushion. I hope this bench brings comfort to Katrina's surviving relatives and sparks curiosity in those who come across it. It was installed in the Sheep Pasture in Easton, MA.
